Day 27

Well, that cute pink cowboy hat that Sevrine wanted so badly on our trip last weekend has been sitting on her table since we got back. Granted, it is displayed a little proudly considering she's 4. :)

Day 26

Okay, these pictures aren't from yesterday, but they help to describe an even that happened yesterday. Sevrine and I were letting the dog outside while the parents were gone and Sevrine decided to follow him to see where he'd gone. Sevrine is normally really good about staying away from the pool if there's no one out there and she's normally only out for a minute because she knows she'll get in trouble. Yesterday she couldn't see where Rusty had gone and when she turned to run and check the other side of the yard for him she fell in the pool. I was just inside the door heading out to bring her back in when I heard the splash then the scream and crying. She was clinging to the edge of the pool at the shallow end. I didn't actually see her fall in, but from the way she described it she actually had to paddle herself to the wall a little. She can actually touch the bottom of the pool at that edge so she didn't actually go all the way under, but it was still really scary for both of us. So here are two pictures, the corner of the pool that she fell in at and the ballerina dress she was wearing when she fell in. She just kept telling me sorry for falling in, not sorry for being outside by herself when she knew she wasn't supposed to.

Day 25

Okay, sorry about the self-portrait, but it seems like this project is getting harder and harder to do. This is a picture I took with the webcam on my laptop on Friday night. Sadly I have no picture for Saturday, but I'll make sure that I take extras so I can post them. I know that's cheating, but maybe I'll get better at this and won't have to. :)

Day 24

Well, it seems like it keeps getting darker and darker, earlier and earlier. So i decided to show you what my drive home looks like.

Day 23

Being that today is Veteran's Day, I wanted to get some patriotic photo to post here. Truly, what I wanted was a back lit flag, but unfortunately I was unable to find one. My second choice was a dog tag I had made after we found out that Jeff was being recalled and would redeploy in December. In case you can't read the tag well, it says USAF - 12162009 - Jeff Glass. The 16th of next month is his deployment date, however, he'll be leaving Luke Air Force Base on 12/14 to report to his assigned training. I'll be wearing his official dog tags during his deployment, once he finally gets them that is.

Day 22

Okay, so to be honest this picture is not from yesterday. I did take pictures yesterday, however, they were of a damaged vehicle at work. So, rather than post a picture of a damaged car, I opted to post this.

There is just something about the feel and comfort of clean sheets. I've been doing the rounds of laundry and had just put clean sheets on my bed. Like I said, there's just nothing like the feel of clean sheets.

Day 21

Okay, once again not very artistic, but I always have to get a picture of Sevrine on her first day of school. In this case we were just changing schools, but I still had to get the picture. She looks a little grouchy in the photo, but she really was excited about school, she just didn't want me to take her picture.

Day 20

Well, today's picture has been a little bit harder to choose. I got some decent shots of some rock formations coming out of the canyon back into Superior, but I don't think that that is the picture that I like the most. Yes, it's probably the more artistic one, but this one means a little more I think. You've seen the evidence of Sevrine's interest in photography from when I was out of commission for 2 days. Well, I've been trying to promote that interest, hence the trip to Globe this weekend. There are not a lot of things that she and I can both do together that we both like doing (with the exception of coloring), so I'm really happy that she likes taking pictures. She already thinks she should be using my nicer camera instead of the point and shoot though. lol So, here is my favorite picture from today. :)

Day 19

Okay, we are posting from Globe, Arizona. We did get a few good pictures today, but not nearly as many as I had hoped for. Sevrine has been less than cooperative so far. One of the things I like about these mining towns is that if you can time things just right it almost looks as if the buildings have been suspended in time. So, here is one of the pictures I took that in the view finder didn't look like much, but turned out to be something much more (at least to me). lol

Day 18

Well, those of you who know me, know that I go a little bit nuts when I don't have my phone on me. I get a little bit jumpy and stressed out and will sometimes spend an entire lunch our just to drive home and get it. Well, now that I live in Peoria, this is not really an option. The drive is too far to do within an hour. I almost turned around to get it this morning but that would have made me far later than I would have been since I didn't realize I'd forgotten it until I was 10 minutes from home. Agghhhh! I kept forgetting what day it was and would go to look for my phone to check it not remembering that I didn't have it. Or, I wanted to map something and would go to turn on my navigation, and I would remember that my phone was sitting at home on my bed. Right where I left it in my mad rush to get us out of the house. Well, I am obviously much more content now that my phone is back in my hand. :)

Day 17

Okay, so in my room I have this cable thing that is supposedly required to make the wireless internet in our house work. There are also other such boxes in Sevrine's room. We all think it's kind of strange that the cable company put them in 2 different rooms, but this is what I see as I lay awake most nights as i don't sleep that well. lol

Day 16

I'm starting to realize and accept that this year's 365 project may just be a regular photo blog instead of the artistic masterpiece I was hoping for. :) I'm okay with that, but I guess I went into this a little bit too ambitious. It's hard enough for me to take pictures every day let alone really put the thought into them that I would like. It doesn't help that I've been a little bit off the last few days. So, I guess my aim now is not only to work on the quality of my pictures, but to take pictures that are applicable to what I'm doing and/or working on. So, in that spirit, my picture tonight is really a visual look into what Sevrine and I are doing this weekend. I've been wanted to go on a short trip with her for a while and wanted to go somewhere that we could take some cool pictures. So, we're heading to the Globe/Miami/Superior area of Arizona. All three are mining towns with lots of historic structures that I think will photograph really well. And, I want to see how some of them look in Black & White and maybe Sepia. :) So excited for this weekend. Hopefully we'll have some great pictures to share.

Day 15

Okay, so you may not know this, but I've spent the last few days with a sore tooth. A botched root canal got infected and I've been in a good deal of pain since Saturday. So I've spent a lot of time in a dark room sleeping. Since my camera has this cool night vision feature, I thought that I would put it to the test to see how good it did in pitch black conditions. So, here it is. :) Oh yeah, this is my cabbage patch kid "Nora" that I've had forever. Sevrine claims her now, but she gave her to me to sleep with last night because I wasn't feeling good. Gotta love my girl.

Day 14

Okay, another of the Sevrine pics. This one is of her feet because with all of the shots of the TV, you could actually tell she tried to put some thought into it.

Day 13

Well, I was pretty much out of commission for the past few days so didn't take a single picture until today. Lucky for me, Sevrine has been quite busy with my camera so my project could stay current. :) Gotta love that my 4 year old knows exactly how to turn on and operate my camera as well has use the viewing options. lol She took a lot of pictures of the TV a few of her feet and a few of her messy playroom. Today's will have to be one of the messy playroom.
